1974 Fender Precision Bass, in excellent original and preserved condition.

This is a superb example of the founding model of the Fender solidbody bass, produced more than two decades after the model’s first appearance but still boasting all the features and build quality that make it a timeless instrument loved by bassists. It features all the typical elements of the period, including an alder body in a beautiful Black finish paired with a white pickguard for that classic tuxedo look; the neck is made of a single piece of maple with the characteristic skunk stripe (a rosewood strip filling the cavity which accommodates the truss rod), topped with the Fender-CBS logo in bold black letters; and the finger rest is now positioned on the bass side of the body.

The instrument is equipped with its original 1974-dated pickup; the associated wiring is also original and intact. This bass has had only one owner for the past 50 years and remains in excellent cosmetic condition to this day. There are a few very light signs of wear in the usual places, but otherwise the instrument is remarkably clean and intact. We have applied ourselves to the necessary lutherie work to restore this superb Precision to maximum playing comfort and accuracy: fret levelling, crowning and polishing; neck adjustment; nut adjustment; action and intonation adjustment at the bridge; pickup balancing; and electronics cleaning. The instrument is in perfect playing condition, with a low action and accurate intonation.

Sold in its original export hardshell case.
