A very nice 2005 Fine Resophonic resonator, built by Mike Lewis in the style of a 12-fret National Style O from the early 1930s.

Mike Lewis is a British luthier, now based in the Paris region, specializing in the construction of resonator guitars as well as the restoration of original instruments, mostly produced in pre-war America by companies such as National and Dobro. The instrument presented here demonstrates his expertise, drawing on the iconic Style O model, here an interpretation of the version produced in the first half of the 1930s. It features a construction with a 12-fret neck; a round neck profile; the body features f-holes cut into the metal, not stamped and “rolled” inward as seen on Nationals after 1933. The guitar features a single, wide cone, in the center of which is mounted the biscuit where the strings rest. The instrument’s finish is discrete, with no engravings and nickel plating throughout the body. The neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard is ebony with a single white binding.

The instrument was recently serviced and set up by Mike Lewis and is in perfect playing and preserved condition.

Sold in its original hardshell case.
