Gibson Super V CES de 1979, en très bon état.
Introduite au catalogue Gibson en 1978, la Super V CES est un beau modèle archtop condensant les attributs de deux canons du genre. D’un côté, le manche en érable ondé avec une touche en ébène décorée d’incrustations en parallélogrammes segmentés, surmonté d’une large tête présentant les incrustations en diamant sur l’avant et l’arrière, est directement emprunté à la Gibson Super 400. Le gabarit du corps provient quant à lui de la L-5, avec une largeur de 17 pouces et une longueur de 21 pouces qui rendent sûrement pour beaucoup le format plus confortable que celui d’une imposante Super 400. La guitare est équipée de ses deux micros humbucker Patent No., offrant une large palette de sons à travailler avec les contrôles de volume et de tonalité. La particularité de la Super V CES consiste en son cordier à 6 brins permettant d’ajuster chacune des cordes séparément.
La Super V CES s’inscrit sans l’ombre d’un doute dans la lignée des grandes guitares archtop produites par Gibson, puisqu’il s’agit d’une guitare parfaitement haut de gamme construite de bois massifs sculptés (épicéa pour la table, érable pour le fond et les éclisses) avec l’intégralité de l’accastillage plaqué or – combinant nombre des caractéristiques les plus convoitées sur les Gibson, la Super V est en effet une perle rare et pourrait s’avérer être un pari gagnant pour le guitariste averti. Ce bel exemplaire issu de la seconde année de production (au cours de laquelle seulement 85 seront produits) est en très bel état d’origine, vérifié, préparé et réglé par nos soins, en parfait état de jeu.

Gibson Super V CES from 1979, in very good condition.
Introduced to the Gibson catalog in 1978, the Super V CES is a beautiful archtop model condensing the attributes of two classics of the kind. On one side, the curly maple neck with an ebony fingerboard decorated with segmented parallelogram inlays, on top of which sits a large headstock featuring the diamond inlays on the front and back, is directly borrowed from the Gibson Super 400. The size of the body comes from the L-5, 17″ in width and 21″ inches which surely for many makes the format more manageable than that of an imposing Super 400. The guitar is equipped from its two Patent No. humbucking pickups, offering a wide range of sounds to work on with the volume and tone controls. The particularity of the Super V CES consists of its micro-ajustable finger tailpiece, allowing each of the strings to be adjusted separately.
The Super V CES is without a doubt in line with the great archtop guitars produced by Gibson, since it is a perfectly high-end guitar built from solid carved woods (spruce for the table, maple back and sides) with all gold-plated hardware – combining many of the most coveted features on Gibsons, the Super V is indeed a rare bird and could prove to be a winning bet for the well-informed guitarist. This beautiful example from the second year of production (during which only 85 were be produced) is in very good original condition, and has had a complete professional setup in our workshop in order to ensure perfect, comfortable playability.
