Gibson ES-125TDC from 1967, in very good preserved and playable condition.
Here is a beautiful example built rather late in the production period of this model, which spanned from 1960 to 1970. The 125TDC represents at the time the most popular ($60 cheaper than an ES-330 for similar qualities!) and the most versatile of the thinline-hollowbody single-cutaway guitars made in Kalamazoo. We find on this ES-125TDC all of the typical characteristics of the period, namely two single-coil P-90 pickups, a beautiful Cherry Sunburst finish on the top and a thin and comfortable neck. An unusual detail on this guitar is its original Tune-o-Matic bridge mounted onto posts screwed directly into the top, the same way as on an ES-330 – earlier examples of this model still used the traditional wooden bridge, so it is interesting to see a rather high-end feature such as the Tune-o-Matic bridge being adapted to the modest 125!
The guitar remains very well preserved to this day, with a beautiful patina related to its use. We note an older repair on the back of the headstock, discreet and stable to this day. With the exception of the pickguard, all of the hardware, the two P-90 pickups and the electronics are original, the instrument having retained all its integrity over the last 6 decades! We have put in all of the necessary work to restore this guitar to full, comfortable playability, including a full levelling of the frets, adjustment of the action and intonation at the nut and bridge, and cleaning of the electronics.
Sold in a modern hardshell case.
