1957 MARTIN 00-21

Martin 00-21 from 1957, in exceptional condition.

This splendid guitar from the end of the 1950s could well be the quintessential instrument for lovers of finger- and flatpicking alike: a 12-fret neck, a good width at the nut and a relatively large string spacing allowing for comfortable playing in the techniques mentioned above. The instrument itself is absolutely immaculate, with its spruce top and stunning rosewood back and sides, original varnish, pickguard, rosewood bridge and tuners.

Style 21 is all in all very close to Style 28, only somewhat more streamlined in the terms of trim – ivoroid and tortoloid top binding, the tortoloid back and fingerboard binding, as well as a nice geometric pattern on bottom joint. Compared to their mahogany counterparts, the 00-21 models were produced in very small quantities – for example, only 24 examples were ever made for the year of production of this guitar! Despite its reduced size, it gives a rich and deep voice, with the singing highs that are the characteristic of instruments made by Martin. Complete professional setup done in our workshop, in perfect playing condition.

Sold in its original hardshell case.
